The rise of AI infrastructure is not limited to software and chips but extends to real-world construction and utilities. Plumbing and construction jobs are becoming essential to supporting large-scale AI data centres.

The job market for Gen Z graduates is increasingly volatile due to economic uncertainty and the rapid rise of artificial intelligence. However, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang suggests that the next wave of prosperity might not be found in the Wall Street cubicle or the Silicon Valley Slack channel. A massive wave of six-figure opportunities is opening up in plumbing and construction.

Huang believes the world is on the cusp of the “largest AI Infrastructure buildout in human history” which will create lots of jobs. By the end of the decade, the global capital outlays for data centers are projected to reach $7 trillion.

The whole education system is tied to a four-year degree program, where hiring an entry level tech worker has fallen at 50% since 2019. Artificial Intelligence will replace half of the white-collar workers in the U.S. There would be no need to do phD in computer.

There must be something to backfill the ambition. There is a huge need for electricians, so electrician jobs are expected to grow 9% over the next decade, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
